MSD 8984 – Starter Saver with Signal Stabilizer

The MSD 8984 Starter Saver with Signal Stabilizer is designed to reduce starter and flywheel stress during engine cranking while improving ignition signal quality. By providing 10° or 20° of start retard, this compact unit makes high-compression engines easier to start and helps extend starter life.

The Starter Saver plugs directly into an MSD distributor or crank trigger pickup and features a built-in LED to monitor trigger input signals. A signal stabilizer circuit ensures steady timing throughout the RPM range. The unit is fully potted with Ciba polyurethane compound for durability in racing environments.
